My name is Samantha Rice, I'm a 17 year old High School student from Ohio. That's about the gist of it.
Over my very few years on this earth, I've found that few people in my generation think for themselves. Many prefer to simply lay down and take what's given to them, or better yet, demand what they want and get all flustered when they don't get it. That's what I've been inspired to at least start to chip off and begin to change.
I've become inspired to make others think for themselves. This entire blog will be centered around various topics that I believe are important. To some extent, this will be my own personal little ranting place as I throw out my views. To others, this will be a place of inspiration (hopefully) and knowledge. I am always open to people pointing out that I'm wrong in a certain subject or area, because I am extremely (and painfully lol) aware that I do not know everything.
However, simply because I am young does not mean that I know nothing. It is quite an irritation when others who are older throw such things in my face, claiming I'm young and stupid and that I'll understand once I get to be their age. I am a strong believer that age is merely a number, just a number that people like to hide behind.
Experience and reason are much stronger than age ever could be, largely because the experiences people had thirty years ago could not apply to what is happening now. The world is changing, which is a fact that some people resist. Same game, different players- as my grandfather always says. Here's what I say: Same game, different players, newer strategy. The methods used in older days cannot continue to be in use today to 'play the game', something that is often over looked by my ancestors. The experiences the young are going through now better tailor their strategy for an evolving game- an evolving game with a few new toys. The internet to be specific.
So, please, do not discriminate against myself or other youth because our strategy will shape what the world is- whether the older generations like it or not. As such, I plan to be apart of shaping our strategy because at the moment? I don't think it's going too hot.
That's enough of my ranting though, I'll save that for the actual blogs. Now, onto more personal matters about myself.
I am an aspiring author. My focus fields of writing are creative mostly, but there is a slight possibility of more technical writing pieces. My genres are Urban Fantasy, Dystopian, general Fiction, and Mythological writings.
I am a lover of English, History, and Art. I often ask the question of which past participle ending people use, I often find that it is not the one I use. (Rant for another day. lol) My interests in history mainly include ancient history, Mesopotamia and the possibility of anything older (such as Gobekli Tepe.) Art, well, I find art in everything so I will not even attempt to condense it down into a sentence or two.
I'm a Daydreamer. You'll find me thinking and thinking for hours on end. In fact, I have spent hours just laying in bed thinking and dreaming. Although, I do find myself with the unbreakable habit of pacing while I'm thinking. It greatly annoys my parents considering the living room is right under my room.
I am a bibliophile. Yep, I said it, bibliophile. This does not mean that I love the bible, as some might see that in the word itself, but I love books. I love all forms of writing from poetry, short stories, novels, fiction, non-fiction, there is no end. I just wish I had more to read. lol
I am me. Simple and plain. If you want to know more than this, you'll have to shoot me an email. Before you do though, I will state that I love to debate. I will debate a point of view I don't even agree with if it will get you to think. Trust me on that fact, debating things is something that I love to do. Something people around me hate.
So, I think that's all for now. I might add some more contact locations in the end, but this is what I'll provide for now- which you can no doubt find it in other places across this blog.
